The following is a list of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) violations that we have encountered. If you have been subject to any of the following, we can bring a claim against the debt collector for you.
This list is not meant to be exhaustive, that is, there are many other violations out there that simply haven't made it to this list. If you believe that a debt collectors actions have violated your rights under the FDCPA, please contact us immediately for a free case review.
- Threat of wage garnishment
- Attempting to collect more than is actually owed
- Failing to send a 1692(g) notice
- Calling third parties about your alleged debt
- Calling you before 8 am or after 9 pm
- Calling you repeatedly
- Using abusive language or harassment
- Threatening to press criminal charges or fraud charges
- Suing on a debt that is beyond the Statute of Limitations
- Failing to reveal their identity
- Contacting you when you are represented by an attorney
- Trying to collect on a debt that was already paid in full
- Making false or misleading representations
- Claim to be affiliated with a government agency
- Claim to increase your credit score
